“Alone we can do so little together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

“Volunteering at NWCC has been an unforgettable experience. Debbie Sykes teaches in depth not just maintenance and care, but educates us to understand reasons behind each thing, the causes, the preventions, and so much more. I did not know how important it was for the community to help preserve local wildlife before volunteering at NWCC, and I love how supportive they have been.” - Alexis Gray

Volunteer Opportunities

It takes a village to make a difference! We are always actively growing our team of volunteers. Below are some of the opportunities that we have to offer:

Transport Volunteer-
Don’t have a lot of time, but want to help make a BIG impact? Help transport injured or orphaned animals to the wildlife hospital. The sooner they get to us, the higher the likelihood that they will survive!

Education Volunteer-
Have a love of wildlife that you enjoy sharing with others? Join our education team, and help connect the community of Nashville to their wildlife neighbors. We currently need Friday and Saturday afternoon volunteers to help present local wildlife at Opryland. Education animals include an Eastern Box Turtle, Corn Snake, Virginia Opossum, and Groundhog.

Wildlife Hospital Volunteer-
Hard work, big results! Our wildlife hospital team works to rehabilitate local injured and orphaned wildlife through cleaning, feeding, enrichment, and basic husbandry. There will be poop!

“Having immersive and hands-on modules established a valuable baseline and skill set for working with rehabilitation animals. If you want to work with highly passionate wildlife professionals who truly and actively care about educating future rehabbers, I can’t recommend this program enough.”

-Mikayla, Hospital Volunteer
